I need to figure out a lot. How to get it here, save some money, the taxes I have to pay etc. And I must of course find a good car!
But I'd really appreciate if you could find out which one who is considered the best!

Nivas are as tough as nails, not comphy though. Very good 4x4 wise too. |

Yes, and extremely easy to fix, too. I'm trying to figure out a reasonable price to offer my guy... He's at 7800 EUR now... UAZ 469 is also pretty good! We'll see what the solution becomes... |

Good luck, wish i could give more advice on pricing but i have no idea what they go for in Europe. UAZ is definetely more military looking though. |

Thanks for caring! Well... The UAZ often comes with only four gears, which might concern me a bit. But I'll tell you what the conclusion is. |

Make sure with Niva you go for 3 door one not 5 door. 5 door model is rubbish. P.S. If you haven't made your choice yet I can have a chat with my driver he is familiar with both vehicles fairly well from army days. |

Hm... Thank you for the quick response! And greet your driver from me! But I'm wondering a little bit about why the Niva is so much better? It would be interesting to know. They sell UAZ 469s for 1/10 of the Nivas, so I'm stuck in a little dilemma here, since I do of course want the best car, but I'm not the wealthiest guy around.  BTW the 5 door version is unavailable on the European market, at least for export from the factory. And they're much more expensive too. I'm looking at an UAZ 469 (1988) now. New Mercedes diesel engine installed (2,4l). It's 500 GBP, and new Nivas (2010+) are at 8000-10000 GBP... And that's directly from the factory... + Norwegian taxes... |

Niva off road capabilities are the best in the world, literally, even standard ones It works even when its around -30C Its practically undestractable (rally) Its controls are very good and responsive It is the only Soviet/Russian car worth even talking about ))It very good value for money UAZ is not a bad car either but its probrlematic to run and care and it will cost you a lot in the long run, |

I know the transmission got a bad reputation... Well, I'll search mainly for the Niva then. Thank your contact from me, and I must thank you for assistance! I'll of course post pictures etc, when I get my hands on one of these, but it might take a while... |
