Today i had a funny run in with the firearm laws of my local government,

I recently got a Rubber Training AK, look like the Ak but made of rubber,
Whats funny is apparently they are illegal. And i need a gun permit for any toy Firearms.

Shit, i still cant believe this.

What are gun laws like where everyone else lives?

in the UK firearms laws are ridiculously strict and here in Northern Ireland even stricter. You need a firearms licence for any airgun or airsoft gun 1 joule or over. Getting a firearms licence is a very long drawn out process. Crossbow ownership is not regulated this way as of yet but I can see that on the cards in the not too distant future. Deactivated weapons require only the deactivation certificate that comes with the gun when you buy it but there is talk of a ban on these this year under the violent crime reduction act.

I would say get a toy but that will probably be kyboshed as well. The government the world over seems to think they will reduce crime by making laws stricter whilst forgetting criminals do not by definition obey the law anyway

In the US we still (for a limited time) have the second amendment, which allows a firearm for self defense in the home mainly.

it's getting a bit harder and harder to get concealed weapons permits, and here in DC it is still outright banned to have a firearm (no matter if in the home, or to carry except for police and armed security). these laws no matter how strict do not stop criminals from obtaining them. remember when one market goes down, the black market profiteers are waiting by to corner the business such as is the drugs campaign. so the only thing i will say further about these laws is that if they are unjust they crooked and not to be followed.

true. I dont recognise a lot of these laws as valid anyway. Here in UK a lot of the laws are stupid. Recently a man was fined and given a criminal record because his trash bin lid wasnt pushed down properly. Ridiculous

some time ago i heard this political advocate of gun-ban in DC or DC area Maryland used a firearm in defense in his home during a robbery attempt.
