Damn, you guys know a lot of things about Russian Army Equipment. The only thing I know about these pictures is that they really look cool. Laughing

Cool set! Exept one little detail... The buckle on the belt is "new-timer"... Back then there was only one tipe - star with leaves...

i actually have so many of the soviet issue belts/buckles that in haste i thought i grabbed one, while in fact it looks like i used the russian federation type buckle; my oversight.

I guess things like that kind of fade astray when you're fooling around with an airsoft rifle. I get your point though.

The more I learned about the groups that fought in Afghanistan the more inaccuracies I start to see with impressions that date this old.

Such as the need for a TTsKO panama hat instead of a Khaki one. But more importantly I have NEVER seen photographic evidence to show the use of TTsKO for GRU soldiers in Afghanistan. Only GORKA's, Type-2 Mabuta's, and KLMK oversuits depending on the situation.

The RD-54 is accurate, gas mask bag would be unnecessary since they knew it was highly unlikely for a biological threat to arise while fighting against simple freedom fighters. The Adidas's work alright, the belt (as pointed out before) would not be used and instead would need a standard infantry belt instead. And if you were doing late war in Afghanistan it might be feasible to get a Lifchik in on the mix as well as those were highly favored when they replaced the Chicom chest rigs.
