Finally got that game. So, any hints and bugs I should know about?

Bugs should be all but inexistant for the time being, they patched it about 4 or 5 times after its first release date and so far no problems have been found.

After you play through it the first time though I recommend getting Clear Sky complete and play through again, it makes the game a whole new experience.

Aside from that I'd recommend revisiting the top right area of the swamps, there is a hole in the fence somewhere and you can reclaim your old rifle from the opening cinematics (VSS Vintorez), no ammo and crappy quality though, but still nice to have for later on in the game. There is also Scar's old hut somewhere in that area too and supposedly you can get a high level artifact detector there but I was never able to get it, it's said to be stuffed behind the metal plate in the back of the room.

That's about all I can think of right now for early gameplay.

Actually S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 is back in production, after the holidays the team came back together and openly said on their official Facebook page they will resume working on it here shortly. Smile

Bugs are still here. You know the Loner/Bandit war in the Garbage. The bloody hold and wait mission.

Yeah the faction wars are never-ending, they say that quite often on the forums, I think it's an actual programmed event since the games that come after Clear Sky chronologically have all of the factions in full strength except for the Renegades.

It's the place I have to hold near the pipes. South-west I think below the graveyard concentration camp.

Sometimes reinforcements aren't available and you will have to come back later when the Loner faction increases its manpower. But there should be prisoners there that will take over the work camps for the Loners themselves.

What do you recommend for an AR? I like the AKm 74 so far.

Well the AR is probably the most moddable weapon in the game besides the AK-74, it's very accurate, but the quality degerantes very quickly and you find the gun jams like a bitch after awhile. M203 grenades and launchers are more common and the optics for the LR-300 is easier to find, but it's not a gun I keep for very long until I find the G36.
