Post subject:  Greetings from Norway!

Hello, my name is Jonas Ramsfjell and i live in Røros in Norway. I don't actively collect military equipment, but take/buy what i can get my hands on for a reasonable price. I do have a great interest in military equipment, mainly WW2 and mainly German or Russian/soviet. I currently own an inactive P-5 gas mask, bought from a stall on the street in Berlin, thinking of buying some other stuff as I'm going there this autumn. I removed the airlock, because i use it a lot for stage appearances and such. I also own a Norwegian WW2 2 star officers jacket, and an old Soviet trench coat of unknown age. Will try to track it down sometime though.

Hello, comrade! And welcome to the forum.
I'm also Norwegian. But I live in Oslo though.

I'm rather impressed by your English skills, I've met none in Oslo that write that good. lol
Your our 3rd Norwegian member I think, we had this guy before, but that's a long time ago...

About the Soviet trench coat, we could probably identify it if you uploaded some pictures.

Hope you enjoy your stay, Gabriel.

Thank you for the compliment, and I'm fairly sure my stay will be a pleasant one.

As for the coat, here you go. Its not a really god picture but its the best my phone is able to take. I'll give some general info then.

The coat is made form wool, and every button has a star, hammer and sickle on it. The coat has two sets of 6 buttons, one on each side, and can be buttoned from both sides, though only one at the time, rather obviously. One of the buttons have fallen off, but I still have it, and will sew it back on when i have time. The collar has two spaces for collar tabs, and each shoulder has a green patch with two reds stripes and three gold stars on it. The coat has two pockets without buttons (?).

I'm going to get it professionally cleaned as i got it from a friends uncle who had had it sitting in the garage next to some dried fish for a large number of years.

Looks like the one I have, which is Artillery Troops.

The collar tabs and color on the shoulder boards generally tell you what the origin is. Red shoulder boards are for the Army itself, and black collar tabs are either Navy, Artillery detachment, or Tank Crews (Depending on what the insignia once was on the tabs).

Yes, tabs are missing badges. See here: ... tegory_id=

If you will need any of these badges just remind me to include them for free with you next order Smile

Wow, really? I'll remember that that! I think that wont be until this autumn though, as i plan on saving up some money for my trip to Berlin, to see if i can find something interesting over there. A new Gas mask or something, as my current one is non-functioning.

I'm also looking for a pair of pants to go with this coat, and one for my Norwegian officer's jacket. Any ideas of where this can be acquired and what it would cost me?

The pants... Hm.. I haven't seen them here for a while. But you can always ask Vlad if he has those kinda pants.
The pants themselves are made out of green-ish wool (?), and got red stripes down the sides of it.
They are also a little bit loose in the thigh.
