Hmm, M4 upper, SCAR buttstock, AK-74 internals and AK-74 barrel.

Awesome, we've officially seen the selling out of AK's.

Seams fine to me, theirs been a topic on Red Alliance for awhile about it

But as we know, FSB, MVD and what not all seam to use Western Rail mounted optics and other attachments due to their nature of being in Start/Stop combat where the extra weight dosnt matter as it provides better tactical ability. with all of this built into the gun we should be able to see a much more effective platform

Yes and those special forces teams often only engage an enemy target for no more than 8 hours MOST times as far as FSB goes and that is normally directorate Alfa, remember there are hundreds of branches both military and non-military in the FSB. As far as combat units in MVD goes, longer periods of fighting prolong, so it would become more difficult for heavier weapons, PKM is heavy enough as it is.

For regular infantry, it's not cost effective and it overburdens troops as far as my opinion goes. The regular AK's were fine for what they were needed for.

Yea, I highly Doubt that these New Ak's will filter into servace

They are also planning a New Modernization package for the Ak74M's, so adding Rail mounts and the such for sights, Lasers and flashlights. Im not sure how common place these will be overall (as Now we still see use of Ak74's in area's) but I think it will mainly go to more specialized groups as the extra weight isnt something the normal soldier would want carrying around for weeks on end.

But its all part of the Modernization of the Russian Federation, new Armoured Cars, New Trucks, Modernizer Tanks, Forign vehicles and the such

So;

Collapsible AND adjustable buttstock.

Recoil compensation system with muzzle brake, and the AK-104's gas chamber compensation system which should make recoil virtually nonexistent for the basic infantry soldier.

Looks like they kept the classic GP-25 launcher.

Integrated sight systems plus the ability to attach additional optics for extended long range engagements.

And what looks to be a simplified safety system.

Brilliant, works for me.))
